A week ago I was priviledged to hear a young German violinist named Julia Fischer. With the Minnesota Orchestra, she performed Tchaikovsky's Concerto in D major, opus 35. A stunning, brilliant performance. I suggest that whatever she may be performing, if she comes to a concert hall near you, go hear her. You'll be thrilled.
Last night I heard Charlie Rose in conversation with Eric Bogoosian and Liev Schreiber, talking about Bogoosian's fine play, "Radio Talk." Schreiber has just taken over the lead role in NYCity. Although as sometimes happens, Rose interrupted too often and talked too much, I was mightily impressed with the sensitivity and insight of the actor.
