Thanks to my favorite Saint Paul newspaper, the Pioneer Press. Today, May 29. 2023, they published a piece from the New York Times by Benjamin Weiser. I'm sure readers can find it on line. Seems an attorney submitted a lengthy response attempting to refute an attempt by the target to have the suit thrown out. The brief citied half-a-dozen relevant opinions. Trouble is, none of the cited cases were real! T^hat's right. The attorney admitted he'd used an AI chat program to do research to find similar cases. Everything the AI "intelligence" program came up with were not real cases. The attorney told the cout he'd even asked the AI program to verify the accuracy of the citations and it did--again erroneously. Interesting, don't you think?
